Exploring Alternative Career Pathways Day

Description:

Unloc’s Exploring Alternative Career Pathways Day is an engaging and interactive event that explores a range of possible career routes beyond attending university and the skills needed to navigate the fast changing labour market we live in.

An initial inspiring introductory talk kicks the day off and sets the scene, followed by 4 ‘masterclasses’ delivered by the Unloc team.

Workshops include:

  • The Fast Changing Labour Market: Students look at what skills will be more or less important now versus in the future. This will be followed by looking at what jobs will be more important in the future and other key trends.
  • Apprenticeships: Mythbusting session on apprenticeships followed by a talk from a current apprentice.
  • Self-Employment: Session for students to look at the changing labour market and self-employment in more detail.
  • Project and Freelance Working: Exploring the growth in freelance working and the tools you’ll need to succeed in this industry.

As career routes diversify, Unloc’s Exploring Alternative Career Pathways Day is a proven model to open the eyes of your students to a whole world of different opportunities.

Testimonial:

It was an excellent experience for our learners – many of whom have decided not to go to university. This event has really challenged them to think about the career path that is right for them.
