Funding Boost for Unloc.online

Unloc.online is Unloc’s new interactive e-learning platform, bringing enrichment learning opportunities into the comfort of young people’s homes. Thanks to a grant award of £9,500, Unloc is now able to rapidly expand some of the free-to-access wellbeing  and career progression provision for young people. The grant was awarded by the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation (HIWCF) in partnership with the National Emergencies Trust

Thanks to this additional funding, our Digital Well-Being and Skills Project will provide free access to practical resources and online support to a wide group of vulnerable and disadvantaged young people. The project will see five new free-to-access Unloc.online courses become available across the summer on Climate Change, Environment, Apprenticeships, Job Applications, and Volunteering; this at a time when many other opportunities are severely limited.

Jonathan Cheshire OBE, HIWCF Chairman commented, “We are delighted to be able to support Unloc in their work to help those in need in the local community. Local charities, community groups and voluntary organisations are providing a lifeline to those less fortunate, and it is heartening to see that these organisations can react so quickly and be so resourceful in the face of the coronavirus pandemic. The vital services that these organisations provide are more crucial now than ever before but are under threat more than at any other time. HIWCF is continuing to raise funding for charities across our region, for which donations can be made to the ‘We’re All Together’ Fund: virginmoneygiving.com/fund/AllTogether.”
