Youth Steering Group

Following an incredible year for our Youth Steering Group – one in which members took on greater sector leadership than ever before – we are excited to open applications for the next cohort!

What does the Youth Steering Group do?

  • Work with members and other young people to reduce inequality in education, this includes campaigning and directly influencing government and decision makers.

  • Provide leadership for youth engagement across the Alliance and influence our strategic decisions.

  • Support our members and innovators to better serve young people and their communities.

  • Champion youth social action in education and across society.

Where did the Youth Steering Group come from?

Over the summer of 2021, supported by The Pears #iwill Fund, we worked with twelve young people to co-develop our Youth Engagement Strategy. A key outcome of this work to ensure young people are equal partners, was to set up a Youth Steering Group. They provide leadership on youth engagement across the Fair Education Alliance and are involved in a range of different work from influencing policy to campaigns, place-based collaboration and organising the Youth Summit.

We are hosting three drop-ins on Zoom where you can come to find out more, ask questions or get help with your application. They are open to everyone, and you can join at any time during the hour. They are:
