We Belong Co-Producer

We are seeking 3 Co-Producers to help advance our work.

About Us

We Belong is the UK’s first migrant youth-led charity. We believe that young people should be central and active participants in the conversation to create positive, impactful social change. We have a main base in London with a Manchester chapter to advance our work.

About the role

We are seeking 3 Co-Producers based in London and Manchester to help advance our work. Over the last 6 years, we have campaigned for shorter routes to settlement for young people who are socially integrated, including welcoming immigration rules that will benefit over 330,000 children and young people.

With your help, we can raise awareness of immigration rules and empower young people from migrant backgrounds so that they can regularise their status in the UK. We have a big task ahead of us and would love you to join us on this journey.

What does being a Co-Producer involve?

Co-producers will be young activists who will work closely with We Belong’s team so that young migrants know their rights and entitlements! As a Co-producer, you will be a part of a team of changemakers who will inspire young people with lived experiences of social injustice and assist them in developing their knowledge and skills.

What will you be doing as a Co-Producer?

Your role may involve assisting in the different areas through planning events, enhancing communication across media platforms, or empowering youth to articulate their concerns on important issues. In addition to participating in meetings, outreach sessions, delivering information and training sessions, Co-producers will also be expected to work alongside staff to assist in different areas of the organisation such as:

Additionally, you will work collaboratively with local councils and community groups, maintain respectful boundaries, and uphold the values of our organisation, promoting equality and diversity. For a complete list of responsibilities, please refer to the full individual job descriptions attached above.

Who can apply to become a Co-Producer?

* Young activists between the ages of 18-25 based in London or Manchester.

* Young people with lived experience of migration.

* Young people who are committed to social change and are already doing work in their communities.

Note: If you are interested in campaigning and social action but feel that you don’t have the complete experience, we encourage you to apply

What is the time commitment needed, and is this a paid role?

As a Co-producer you will be expected to commit a maximum of 5 hours a week which is 3 days a month to We Belong’s projects at a £15 an hour rate. Certain roles may require a commitment of 7 hours per week at the same £15 an hour rate. Please refer to the individual job descriptions above

The contract with We Belong will be for 12 months. We Belong will also provide support to process your invoices as well as accountancy support to pay taxes.
