Are you finishing school this year or in your first year of college/apprenticeship?
Been a prefect, peer mentor, school council representative or just want to develop your skills?
Don’t know what to do in July?
Take part in a specialised National Citizens Service (NCS) with Unloc this July which is specially designed for young people who have already shown their commitment to bettering themselves.
What does the Unloc Leadership NCS look like?
Week 1: Adventure!
The group will go to a specialist activity centre for a week of water sports such as kayaking, land-based activities such as archery and other team building sessions. You will stay in either log cabins or hotel style accommodation with all food provided including a BBQ on one night.
This first week might also include a day trip to a nearby town/city – to be confirmed.
Week 2: Try Something New!
After a weekend back at home, the group will stay together in university-style accommodation in Portsmouth. This week is all about learning new life skills such as cooking and discovering new talents such as being a master chocolatier or a top radio presenter.
Weeks 3 & 4: Make Your Mark!
These last two weeks are all about taking the skills you’ve developed over the first two weeks to ‘give back’ and make a difference in your community. As a team, you’ll plan, fundraise and carry out your social action project right here in Portsmouth with lots of help and support from the Unloc Team and other mentors.
You will have had an awesome four weeks and become part of the wider NCS family and will graduate alongside the other young people taking part in the ‘normal’ NCS this Summer.
