Our agile team, based at our central HQ in Portsmouth are looking for a dedicated individual passionate about supporting fellow educators and facilitators who will help the team to deliver high quality programmes Unloc is known for; as well as someone who will directly deliver Unloc’s leadership personal development programmes to young people in schools and colleges. Specific Responsibilities:
Content & Quality Management Responsibilities (approx 3 days per week):
To oversee the creation of innovative and creative programme content
- Work alongside individual members of the Unloc team in order to provide oversight and guidance on creating innovative and creative programme content and programme development more broadly.
To oversee the ongoing quality of Unloc programmes
- Create and implement effective ongoing quality management processes including regular session observations with feedback and support for programme facilitators, participant and client evaluation and impact measurement.
To support the CPD of delivery/facilitation staff
- Make recommendations for the CPD of Unloc facilitation staff and directly deliver those CPD opportunities as appropriate. This could include additional training and support in group session/s or bespoke support and mentorship for individuals.
To be a proactive member of the Unloc Leadership Team
- To contribute and support the work of Unloc’s Leadership Team, which meets weekly, with a specific focus of driving the quality assurance and content development agenda. This includes being involved in the wider affairs of the organisation, including helping us to shape the strategic and operational direction of the organisation.
Leadership & Personal Development Programme Delivery Responsibilities (approx 2 days per week):
To deliver bespoke leadership skills and personal development programmes
- To organise, plan and facilitate leadership skills and personal development programmes. This will involve building programmes that meet the individual needs and priorities of the commissioning school, college or organisation. Often this will be for groups of head boys/girls, prefects, student governors, peer mentors or young people that have yet to develop leadership sensibilities.
Providing regular updates to the Operations Manager and updating the Unloc contracts document
- To provide regular (written or verbal) updates to the Operations Manager on current progress and achievements of individual projects and training programmes you manage, this includes using and keeping the Unloc contracts document up-to-date.
Providing additional support and opportunities for students
- Providing support and additional opportunities for young people you work with where possible.
To support other Unloc projects
- To aid other Unloc projects as and when required by the team (in consultation between you and your line manager).
Person Specification:
Qualifications
Essential: GCSE Maths and English at grade A*-C (or equivalent).
Essential: A-Levels at grade A*-C (or equivalent).
Desirable: Level 3 ICT qualification.
Desirable: A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject (or equivalent industry experience).
Experience and Knowledge
Essential: Previous work with young people as a teacher, trainer or facilitator.
Essential: Some experience of quality management processes e.g session observations and evaluation forms.
Essential: Some project management experience.
Desirable: Previous knowledge of the youth sector; including how schools/colleges operate.
Abilities and Skills
Essential: High level writing skills.
Essential: Ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
Essential: Ability to manage a budget.
Essential: Ability to work as part of a team.
Essential: Ability to work independently.
Desirable: High level of skill when using G Suite (formerly known as Google Apps for Work).
