When student leaders of high schools from across Portsmouth come together there will always be great debate, massive learning and tons of fun. On Wednesday 8th July, Portsmouth College hosted a Head Boy and Girl Leadership Training Event and Unloc trainers were on hand to provide support. It was an opportunity for student leaders to get together, learn about each other and chart the way forward for the next academic year.
Sessions included ‘Time and Team Management’, ‘Networking’ and ‘Priorities Setting’ with time in between for more informal interactions. Steve Frampton, Principal of Portsmouth College, led the event and additional trainers included Ben Dowling, Strategic Director of Unloc and Summer Haly Head Girl of Miltoncross Academy.
The student leaders engaged in activities using tissue paper, coloured plastic balls, and chairs as they creatively conceptualised how to maximise their leadership experiences in the upcoming year. In addition to the day’s training activities each student received with a book ‘How to be Brilliant’ written by Michael Heppell.
