One Young World is the preeminent global forum for young leaders aged 18-30 and gathers the brightest young leaders from around the world, empowering them to bring about social change. Just two weeks ago, I was proud to represent Unloc and the United Kingdom at my fourth One Young World summit in Bogota, Colombia.
I was proud to share all of Unloc’s amazing work to the star-studded lineup including the President of Colombia and Mr Kofi Annan, and over 1,500 delegates from over 194 countries.
A core pillar of the Unloc approach is empowering young people to become changemakers. The One Young World summit fully embraces this ethos and challenges delegates to think about the role they can play in building a better, fairer and safer world.
It is the perfect environment for us to connect with other like minded individuals, organisations and thought leaders that share our ethos. These connections often result in partnerships that enable us to enhance our work, learn from others and collaborate on joint projects.
Here are my highlights!
- Ronan Dunne, Global President of Verizon Wireless, Publically Committing To Support Unloc Events:
- Interviewing Nobel Peace Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus about Youth Leadership for our Unloc Student Voice Academy
- Meeting inspiring young people – including the EU’s Peace Ambassadors
Hearing from Kofi Annan, 9th Secretary General of the UN, on building peace in communities
- Meeting with inspiring business leaders on behalf of the Unloc Enterprise Academy, including AB InBev board member Elio Leoni Sceti
