Ahead of this year’s first round of Student Forums summits it has been a real pleasure over the past two weeks to have facilitated a series of briefings to local teachers who will be supporting their students in our Forums. These are referred to as ‘Link Teachers’.
Unloc Student Forums bring together students from a wide geographical area and create opportunity for collaborative learning and cooperation with the overarching aim towards school improvement.
The Link Teachers play a vital role in this process as they will be the practitioners who have regular contact with their students and are involved with the Forums by coaching/supporting them in their elected roles within the Forums. They also enable the students to feedback to the wider school community. It is this work that ensures that the summits are more than just ‘Talking Shops’ and that real positive action is taking place.
This year we are also excited to be introducing an online portal for Link Teachers across all of our Forums to join a supportive online community of teachers sharing examples of best practice, engaging in open discussion and celebrating students successes.
